Andrew Fraser – Board Member

Andrew Fraser has been practising as a criminal defender in Canberra for eight years after committing journalism for almost three decades straight, save for a short break as a political staffer.
Apart from brief Sydney stints in the 1970s and 1980s, he has remained in the city of his birth, Canberra, throughout, remembering it when Woden-Weston and Belconnen were only small satellites and before Tuggeranong and Gungahlin were anything.
Married with four children – two grown and two in primary school – he is a believer in our nation’s many judicial systems, despite the seemingly constant attacks on them from many sections of the media and some corners of some legislatures.
And, despite recent persuasive evidence against the notion, he continues to believe also in the Carlton Football Club, is a life member of Masters Australian Football ACT and is a playing member of both the Canberra City Pipes and Drums  and the Canberra Burns Club Pipe Band.
